What is Learning Resources?

• Information, materials, databases, and knowledge related to and supportive of the learning process.

• Access to, equipment for, training on, support for, and awareness of information, materials, databases and knowledge.

• Support for our students, faculty and staff’s personal development and enrichment, lifelong learning, career development, and technology skill development needs.

• Learning Resources exists to support the College’s mission.

Initiatives:

• Learning Object Repository

• A Student Technology Education Program (S.T.E.P.)

• Teacher technology training

• Multipurpose staffing

• Shared areas

• Technology in all classrooms  

Division Goals for the Next Year:

• Continue to offer the same great Library, SCCOnline, Media and Printing services.

• Develop a more collaborative, more cohesive approach, with a wider focus to the services our division provides.

• Assume greater educational technology leadership.

• Support Academic’s use of technology and work closely with IT to support that use.

• Build teams of staff from Learning Resource and other areas to achieve division goals and support initiatives.

• Use regular assessment tools to improve and expand services.
